Mahdi Jampour is currently an assistant professor at Quchan University of Technology (QUT). He is also the president and board of directors at Iranian Society of Machine Vision and Image Processing (ISMVIP). He received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Kerman, Iran, in 2006; M.Sc. degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the Islamic Azad University of Mashhad (IAUM), Iran in 2009, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the Graz University of Technology (TU-Graz), Austria in 2016. He received the Best M.Sc. Thesis Award from the IAUM and full Ph.D. scholarship from the Iran Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT). Dr. Jampour also awarded a Marshal Plan Fellowship from the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation to visit the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 2015. He did Postdoctoral fellow at Iran Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC) by receiving Iran’s National Elites Foundation (INEF) award. His research interests are in the areas of computer vision including recognition, detection, verification and identification and focused on the deep learning approaches in these fields.
